It was in 1980, after four years of apprenticeship at the Lemmens bakery in Herstal and at the famous Pierson patisserie in Courrières, that Jean-Pierre Baeke took over his first bakery located in the Liège steel basin. And already the speculoos it makes are one of the flagship products of its production. After a few months, he hired a young dynamic saleswoman, Nicole Albano, the start of a new area. They married in 1982, had two children, Sébastien and Michaël, and in 1986 changed bakeries to settle more in the countryside, in Alleur. A third thief will strengthen the ranks: Ludovic. Over the years, the business developed and the children grew up, sometimes with one foot in the workshop, sometimes with the other in the store. In 2010, the family made the difficult decision to close the store to concentrate on the manufacture and sale of artisanal speculoos, cooked marzipans and coconut rocks. A diametric change in life both professionally and family-wise. Success is right there!!
